Why Hypnosis Works

Overeating usually fills an emotional need or serves as a distraction. Some people overeat to make themselves feel better after bad experience. Others use food as a reward or to get a euphoric feeling when stressed.  Any one of these reasons is usually the result of an unintential learned behavior. Hypnosis uncovers the "why" of overeating and gets to the root of the problem.  It is then a matter of wanting to reprogram the old responses with new desires; the bedrock of hypnosis sessions.  By getting to the root of the problem through hypnosis, you can change your relationship with food.

We will also address habitual eating behaviors, your activity levels, stress, or any other contributing factors. We usually work with a client for 4 to 5 sessions spread about a week apart over 4 to 5 weeks. We want to hear from you so we can help you start your weight loss journey!

Close your eyes and imagine your food cravings floating away. Just imagine a day of eating only foods that are good for your body. Imagine hypnosis actually helping you lose weight — and the good news is - It Does!

Harvard Medical psychotherapist, Jean Fain, says, "When I tell people how I make much of my living—as a psychotherapist hypnotizing people thin — they will almost always ask: Does it work? My answer usually brightens their face with something between excitement and incredulity."

Unless hypnosis has happily compelled you or someone you know to buy a new, smaller wardrobe, it may be hard to believe that this mind-over-body approach could help you get a handle on eating.

"Seeing is definitely believing."

(CNN) -- A dream vacation to most sounded like a nightmare to Julie Evans.

In 2006, Evans' husband won an all-expense-paid trip to Hawaii, and scuba diving was one of the included activities.  She wanted to go, but not enough to put on a bathing suit.  "It was at that moment that I realized that my weight was preventing me from living," Evans said.

After her first session, Evans said she started craving spinach. By the next day, she said she was eating a quarter of what she had before.

"I physically couldn't eat as much as I had been, and I only wanted really healthy things," she said. "I haven't had a soda since that day, whereas before, it was every day."

It took two years to reach her goal of 150 pounds, losing almost half of her body weight. Evans has since maintained her weight for over three years.  2.
